Well, I tried my best, and had covered all the basic on page SEO techniques that a blogger need to follow for better ranking in Google SERP.
You might be aware of the term SEO and how it works. Still if you have any doubt, I hope that will be gone after reading this post, as I have tried my best to cover all the aspects of on page SEO for better ranking.
However, before going further, let me give you some sort of knowledge related to SEO.
SEO is the procedure to make your website visible to search engine and get traffic from there through some unique and natural ways instead of paying for ads. The search engine will rank your weblog or content you have posted in such a way that would be relevant to the demand of the user who is searching for specific keywords.
Whenever visitor or Search crawler visits your blog, both quickly search the whole website by checking the Title, Sub Titles, and content, images, videos posted in it that either if the content is informative OR not.
LET’S START WITH THE BASIC ON-PAGE SEO GUIDE:
Keep in mind, that on Page SEO is all about optimizing your website content for Search engine and Visitors in such a way that Google recognize it as a Quality piece and give it place on google 1st page.
On page SEO is more focused on optimizing your website content, like Keyword in Title, URL, in 1st paragraph, H1, H2, H3 (Headings) internal linking, Images Alt text, keyword density, and so on, while Off page SEO refers to the backlinks that we normally get from outside website.
If you put some efforts into below classification and procedures, you will see a boost in traffic and better SERP position.
Some Basic Practice to for making your ON Page SEO perfect:
A KEYWORD RESEARCH:
The first step to write the right content for your blog is to identify the market gap and problems of people for which they are searching. That is only possible by doing keyword research.
While doing keyword research you have to look into the matter that what keyword has greater volume of searches with less competition. In addition, you have to target the long tail keywords normally.
Therefore, for getting good and accurate results you need to have a paid keyword research tool like Kwfinder, Longtailpro, Moz, SEMrush Keyword tool, or Ahrefs etc.
I personally recommend Kwfinder more over other research tools due to easy use and better Performance.
TITLE OF THE CONTENT
Your title should be the collection of such words, which describes your content. Your title is the root of your content, which increases the thirst of your readers and forces them to read the whole content.
After that, I highly suggest you to place your keyword/topic phrase at the start of your first paragraph. There’s a term referred to as “above the fold” where Google puts a large stress on the content. Google wants its users to find the solutions to their questions very quickly within Nano seconds.
Your Title should be so attractive that when people click on your web page they must wish to read the whole content. You should include the main keyword or some close variation in the heading. There is no limitation to the length, but usually, it fits inside one or two lines.
URL OF POST
Your post’s URL address should be giving a clear meaning to what the weblog is all about. Normally when user searches something in Google, they look into the URL that either it is giving some meaning to the topic they are searching or it is misleading.
As we know, that Google is dependent on bots. That bots check different website for a relevant keyword, which people are searching. So try to add your focus keyword in the URL of your post. Your web page URL must be clear, readable and accessible for users because it is a best practice that helps Google to find the post easily.
There are no such rules for a short or long URL but the best one is the short URL, because it looks more natural, accurate and is easier to remember.
Let me share a screenshot for you to understand the above concept easily:
If you examine the above screenshot, you will see that the keyword for which I have searched is used 3 times in the post. In the heading or title, Then in URL and after that in the Meta description. Google want fair and simple work, do not much think about the platform either you are using custom or CMS, try to use short and optimize permalink, and try to avoid permalinks as showing below.
To change your Permalink, go to your WordPress website admin panel, Hover your mouse on Setting, click on permalink and change your URL from default to post name or custom. Image given below!
SEO optimized content help you in the ranking of your weblog in search engine while Good and quality content help in engaging with visitors.
The most important thing you should know is the keyword density. Google, as well as other search engines, always look for keyword density. If your keyword density is 1-2% then its fine. Never ever, try to use your main keyword so many times, as it will look spam. Instead of the main keyword, use the LSI keywords that will reduce the chances of spamming and increase ranking on different keywords.
Use your main keyword in such way in your content that it looks natural.
Here is a video of matt Cut telling about keyword density:
META DESCRIPTION OF THE POST
Another step in the basic guide to On-Page SEO is the use of Meta description.
According to different webmasters, Google did not give much importance to the Meta description. However, if we take it in the case of niche website then the importance of Meta description can’t be ignored. As we know that, the habit of a search crawler is the picking of relevant text from your website to display it in search engine results.
In Niche website, it plays a key role. Let us suppose an individual is searching for any topic, now the result arises in the search bar but that result is not providing the complete information related to the search of the individual. What do you think? This individual will either click on that result or ignore?
The simple answer is that he will ignore:
Therefore, it is better to write a 100-150 word of unique and quality Meta description for your post including your main keyword, which has value. Value means that there might be a chance of clicking from the visitor on that particular content having the quality Meta description.
Below is the example of Good Meta description

I can say that content plays an important role in the progress of the site. Content ultimately drives users to the website; if you make them happy, then they will spread and share your worthy content with other people.
Content is the king but according to experts, high quality & unique content is the only way that will help you and your blog in Long Run. We can say that content runs the site because it drives people to the website, keeps them informed, and makes them to share it with other people. Optimized content always help in bringing in visitors as well as search bots.
The best way that search crawler loves, is to use the targeted keyword in the first paragraph of your content. The first paragraph is the root of the whole content and the bridge between you and your visitors. The first paragraph should be relevant and informative, must contain a brief content plan and the most important keywords.
Ok, now you got the idea of how important quality content is.
However, which type of quality?
Either copying from high authority blog or making of your own post with proper research. Quality content means to write something new after proper research and with some addition. So try to do a proper research before writing a blog post, if you, in real, want to conquer Google.

If you are thinking of that only text will make your website complete and perfect. Then let me clear it that you are completely wrong. Google rely on the different things. Videos, text, optimize and professional website, are some of the tools by which you can tell Google as well as your audience that you did proper work before publishing this website or content. To encourage users and to reduce bounce rate, Text and videos play a key role.
Some other Basic guides to On-page SEO are trying to interlink all the related posts to each other which we call internal linking, one of the most important things which reduce your bounce rate and engage visitors.
Also if you find something outside from your weblog which has quality, must link that to your content as Google really love this thing, as well as your visitors, got much information under one roof.
Here is the complete guide to Internal Linking.
Content with more than 2-3 direct affiliate links may affect your website, so try to avoid adding many links in 1 post and use a tool for shortening those links. The one, which we are using and recommending, is the Pretty link.

ALT TEXT FOR IMAGES AND VIDEOS:
Another tip to basic On-page SEO is the use of images and videos with correct ALT text. Google, as well as other search engines, are not much mature yet to read the Message in the image or video that what is happening there inside. So what they do? They go to the ALT text, description or file name and caption. Whatever they find there, will rank your image on that keyword.
Therefore, it is important to place your keyword in the title and alt text of your images.
Try to provide correct information related to your main keyword for indexing and bringing more traffic.
